The Yorkshire HR Company Ltd. is owned by Sarah-Jane O’Brien – a senior HR practitioner with comprehensive strategic, developmental and operational experience in a range of private and not-for-profit sectors in the UK, Continental Europe, the Nordics, US and West Africa.
With the ability to thinking strategically and transform strategy into delivery, she can demonstrate the successful implementation of a range of HR initiatives in support of business plans and objectives, to include culture change; organic growth and re-organisation; expansion and downsizing; new business ventures and start-ups; mergers, acquisitions and disposals.
Sarah-Jane has extensive experience of all areas of HRM. She has broad and up-to-date HR skills, to include resourcing; remuneration and reward; employee & industrial relations (national level negotiations with USDAW, NUPENG & PENGASEN – West Africa), change management; training and development, performance management and talent management; TUPE, redundancy and outplacement support; coaching and mentoring.
Sarah-Jane has a BSc (Honours) in Psychology with Counselling and is a graduate member of the British Psychological Division / Occupational Psychology Division. She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD). In addition, she has a Diploma in Coaching Practice and is a member of Coaching and Mentoring International. She is BPS Level A and B qualified and is trained in a number of psychometric tools, including OPQ and Myers Briggs Type Indicators (MBTI) Steps 1 and 2.
Corporate Social Responsibility
In an effort to support the links between education and industry, Yorkshire HR Company engages in range of activities within schools. This includes supporting school's Enterprise Initiatives and their Work Experience programmes; presenting on how to write a CV, preparing for selection interviews and interviewing techniques.
Yorkshire HR Company supports the Aim Higher initiative mentoring young people during their final years in full time education, for which enhanced level CRB clearance is necessary. In addition, we participates in the Compass Education Business Support (CEBS) programme, supporting young people to become better informed and prepared for adult life and the world of work.
HR Mentoring Support
Yorkshire HR Company work with client companies providing functional direction and guidance to junior HR practitioners or others responsibilities for HR. In so doing, the jobholders gain in confidence and competence (skills, knowledge and experience), by having someone to whom they can refer to mentor them appropriately.
